Make tracks to Trysil in Norway this ski season

Brand new to the 2009/10 programme from Alpine Tracks is Trysil, Norway’s largest and most varied ski area with 31 lifts serving 65 marked slopes.

Just two hours’ drive from Oslo airport, Trysil also boasts one of Europe’s longest ski seasons – from November to the beginning of May.

Accommodation includes the brand-new Radisson Blu Resort which is set right next to the slopes for easy ski in, ski out, and where skiers can enjoy a wide choice of dining and leisure facilities including six restaurants and bars, swimming pools and an adventure pool area with the only ‘flow rider’ surf wave in Norway.

Also featured in the resort is the Trysil Norlandia hotel – a traditional, chalet-style property five minutes’ from the slopes, together with self-catering cabins sleeping from two to 32.

At the Radisson Blu, seven nights with breakfast leads in at £595 per person (twin share) in December ’09, rising to £895 over New Year. Add £35 per person, per night for half-board.

In France, the company has introduced two new luxury catered chalets in Tignes which are adjacent to the new Fil Neige drag tow making them virtually ski in, ski out. Each chalet sleeps between 16 and 19 people which means that, combined, they can accommodate up to 38.

Each chalet boasts a sauna and sun terrace with hot tub and guests also have access to the swimming pool and spa in Belvedere residence next door.

Prices range between £295 and £745 per person (twin share) for seven nights’ chalet board which includes breakfast, afternoon tea and four-course evening meal with wine.

Flights are not included but can be arranged by the company on request – departures are available from Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Jersey and Edinburgh. Car hire or transfers are also pre-bookable.
