You haven’t skied until you’ve skied Canada
The Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) and the Canadian Destination Ski Consortia (CDSC) will be kicking off their UK 2009/10 Ski and Board marketing campaign to highlight Canada’s exciting ski and board experiences this month.
The 09/10 campaign, which will run under Canada’s strapline ‘You haven’t skied until you’ve skied Canada’, focuses on online and print mediums. Online partners include: skiclub.co.uk, onthesnow.co.uk, ifyouski.com and ultimate-ski.com whilst Canada will also be fully integrated, both off-line and on, with the Daily Telegraph and the Independent (both print portions scheduled for October 17th).
Readers of the Daily Mail Ski and Board magazine will be treated to a Canada Ski and Board calendar to keep the Canadian ski experience alive all year long. The Calendar will come out in January 2010 and will feature the benefits of a Canadian ski holiday, inspirational photography from each resort to inspire future visits, and a prize draw to win a ski holiday, in partnership with Air Canada. Indeed, the campaign includes more prize draws than ever before; the Daily Mail Ski and Board magazine aside there are also ski holiday giveaways to Canada with ifyouski.com, ultimate-ski.com, telegraph.co.uk and independent.co.uk , all with the support of Air Canada.
“As Canada prepares to host the 2010 Vancouver Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games the Canadian ski and board experience is about to be put under the spotlight as never before. This campaign seeks to highlight that whilst everyone can enjoy the energy of the Winter Games at all of the resorts across Canada there is still great value and availability to be had throughout the entire season offering the usual short lift lines, a great ski and board infrastructure, affordable accommodation and gold medal snow conditions”, said Samantha Campbell, Consumer Promotions Manager, CTC UK.
“Canada is a big country and is known for its great skiing and snowboarding resorts that are spread across British Columbia, Alberta and Québec. While the 2010 Winter Games are taking place in Whistler, every resort across Canada is celebrating the energy with fabulous deals and offers. The 09/10 campaign with the Canadian Tourism Commission will help us showcase the depth and variety of Canada’s ski and snowboard experience,” added Renata Cecconi, Chair of the CDSC.
The Canadians will once again show a friendly face at the Metro Ski and Snowboard show (October 21 – 25th) with a total of 12 exhibitors on the Canada stand and Red Mountain close by. 5 exhibitors will also represent Canada at the NEC Birmingham British Ski and Snowboard show (October 30th – November 1st).
