 Jet Airways expands Gulf network with new services Jet Airways launched its inaugural flight to Riyadh the capital and largest city of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from the Indian financial capital of Mumbai, on 6 August. This is the airline’s second service to Saudi Arabia, complementing the airline’s existing daily Mumbai-Jeddah service.

Jet Airways offers four services a week on the Mumbai-Riyadh-Mumbai sectors, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, aboard a Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

With the introduction of this new flight, Jet Airways now flies to eight cities in the Gulf, including Kuwait, Bahrain, Muscat, Doha, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah and Riyadh.

A new, daily service to Dubai from Hyderabad was launched on 16 August, the first international service from Hyderabad and Jet Airways’ second daily service to Dubai from South India. Hyderabad is the administrative, financial and economic capital of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, and has in recent years grown to become one of the country’s leading IT and biotechnology hubs. To match this rising prominence, the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) is equipped with one of the country’s longest runways and state-of-the-art passenger, air traffic control and cargo infrastructures. RGIA is designed to handle over 40 million passengers and 1 million metric tonnes of cargo.

In addition a new Kochi-Sharjah service was launched on 1 September aboard a Boeing 737-800. The new flight is Jet Airways’ fourth daily service to the Gulf from Kochi, complementing the airline’s existing daily services on the Kochi-Doha, Kuwait and Muscat sectors.

Travellers can now also connect between Bangladesh and the Gulf with the launch on 15 September of a new daily Jet Airways direct service from Mumbai to Dhaka.
