Luxury cruising on the Nile
Egyptian holiday specialist, Red Sea Holidays, has added luxury Nile cruises to the portfolio of holidays in its 2009/10 brochure. Red Sea Holidays works exclusively with Grand Cruises which operates nine five-star cruise ships and is one of the Nile’s most modern fleets.
Seven-night cruise itineraries begin in Luxor and take in all the treasures to be seen en-route to Aswan. Some of the shore excursions included in the price are:
Western Thebes – Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon
Luxor – the temples of Luxor and Kamak
Edfu/Kom Ombu – the Temple of Horus, Sobek Temple
Aswan – Philae Temple, the High Dam, plus a trip on a traditional sailing boat
Facilities on board the vessels vary but all include swimming pools and sundecks, bars, restaurants and entertainment.
As an example of prices, a seven-night, wintersun cruise on board the five-star MS Nile Beauty costs from £663 per person (twin share) in January. Included are return flights from Gatwick, transfers and full-board accommodation in an outside cabin.
