Turkish delight for travellers at Glasgow Prestwick Airport

11th November 2009 Print

Glasgow Prestwick Airport has launched its new programme of Summer 2010 package holidays to Turkey.

“Scots loved our inexpensive Turkish programme so much this year that we’re delighted to bring it back for next summer,” said Prestwick’s Passenger Development Manager Paula Horne as the holidays went on sale.

“Turkey has become one of the most popular holiday destinations for Scots, with an 11% increase in the number of tourists this year.

“That’s because Turkey is outside the eurozone so your holiday spending money goes much further. Our inclusive packages start at just £289 per person staying at the Seren Sari Hotel in Marmaris for seven nights on a bed and breakfast basis, which is fantastic value for money in June.”

Direct flights from Prestwick to Dalaman run every Tuesday from 8 June to 13 July, with an extra Monday flight operating on Monday 28 July for 2 weeks.

Prestwick’s Turkish partner is Holidays 4U, an independent tour operator that has provided surprisingly cheap holidays and flights to Turkey for nearly twenty years. Bookings are totally protected by full ABTA membership and Government ATOL bonding.

Holiday 4U’s Karen Vyse said: “We’re delighted to be flying again from Glasgow Prestwick in Summer 2010. From simple no-frills flights, through to a huge range of hotels and apartments, everything has been carefully selected to give Scots the best possible value for money.”

Top resorts include Marmaris, Olu Deniz, Hisaronu, Ovacik, Icmeler, Dalyan and Turunc.

Lively Marmaris lies along a huge bay enclosed by pine covered mountains. Olu Deniz is on a beautiful lagoon edged with soft sandy beaches that’s a favourite picnic spot for tourists and locals alike. Icmeler is a modern resort developed to a grand design with wonderful public gardens and open spaces. And then there’s romantic Dalyan, a fishing village by a river, a few minutes by water taxi from a stunning beach where blue waves play against golden sands.

Clean and welcoming hotels on Prestwick’s programme range from no frills one to luxury five star establishments with every possible facility.

The Seren Sari Hotel in Marmaris is very popular and one Holiday 4U customer said on TripAdvisor: “The staff in the hotel were very friendly and the location is perfect for everyone. As for going on trips, we went with Holidays 4U who offer a evening cruise with meal for £3 – well worth it. But the one trip that we really enjoyed was the Jeep Safari; we have never had as much fun! All in all it was fantastic – we’ll be back again.”

Paula added: “For families, young couples or older people, Turkey is a delight from Glasgow Prestwick next summer.”

The programme is now on sale. For bookings and more information, go to h4u.co.uk or contact your local travel agent.
