The province of Québec is home to one of North America’s top ski resorts - Mont Tremblant. The resort will kick off the 2009 season with early winter’s hottest event ‘The 24h of Tremblant’, which runs from December 11 to 15.

More than 1000 skiers and riders will take up the slopes during the 24 consecutive hours, attempting to repeat last year’s extraordinary feat of raising $1 million (Canadian) for sick and underprivileged children.

This winter will also see the launch of a new innovation at the Tremblant ski school, the Flaik system, which will see most children in ski school being fitted with a GPS armband that makes it possible to locate them in real-time, giving greater peace of mind for parents. In addition, it will also be possible to re-examine the day spent on the slopes at home, seeing the trails the child has skied.

Regularly voted number one ski resort in eastern North America, Tremblant offers 95 runs serviced by 14 state-of-the-art lifts, plus 18 acres of ramps, rails and jumps and an Olympic calibre Superpipe.

You can also try your hand at the Winter Olympic sport of curling, as our video shows – so grab your brush!
