There’s more to Geneva than snow
For those who don’t fancy whizzing down the piste, there is more to Geneva than just snow. Head to bmibaby’s most popular snow resort, and there is no need to spend the week with a pair of skis attached to your feet.
There are plenty of great events taking place in Geneva over the next few months, and listed below are bmibaby’s top recommendations:
International Christmas Market
Why not indulge in some Christmas shopping away from home at the Geneva Christmas Market. Set in the scenic Place de la Fusterie, the Christmas Market takes place from 25 November – 24 December 2009. It is the perfect excuse to stock up on locally made presents, delicious food and unusual gifts. For more information visit geneva-tourism.ch.
Coupe de Noël
If swimming is more appealing than skiing or snowboarding, why not try the Coupe de Noel? This annual event, that takes place in December, involves diving into the icy waters of Lake Geneva, on the quay of the Jardin Anglais. The 125 metre race calls for nerves of steel as the water is just 4 or 5 degrees centigrade at the this time of year and the air temperature between 10 and minus 10 degrees!
