January Detox at Eight Moorgate

Rooftop private members club, Eight Moorgate in London, is introducing a Detox Menu to its restaurant’s lunch time offering during January 2010, to help members stick firmly to their New Year’s resolutions.

The set menu (£21), which offers low calorie yet still truly delicious dishes, is served in the club’s Fifth Floor dining room set against a backdrop of steeples and skyscrapers, and includes spiced and warming food to stave off the January cold.

Talented Head Chef Richard Lyndon has worked with Michelin starred Chef Jerome Basbancon and acclaimed Australian Chef Bill Granger. Starters from the Detox Menu include; Hot and Sour Tiger Prawn Soup with Palm Sugar and Coriander, and Cucumber, Avocado and Tomato Salad with Green Chilli and Lime Dressing.

Main dishes include delights such as Baked Organic Salmon with a Tomato and Basil Essence and Poached Neck Fillet of Lamb with Cous-Cous and Spiced Butternut Squash.

Guests can also choose from a range of the club’s delicious Detox Juices, created with ingredients to heal, cleanse and purify, including fresh ginger, carrot, orange and cucumber.

Eight Moorgate EC2 is located at 1 Dysart Street, EC2A 2BX. Opening Hours: Mon-Fri 7am-3am / Sat 5pm-3am.
