From beach to oasis in Egypt

4th February 2010 Print

Red Sea Holidays has introduced a choice of multi-centre itineraries combining beachside stays with cultural and sightseeing tours.

One new idea from the Egyptian holiday specialist is ‘The Charm of the Oases’, a 14-night holiday combining soft adventure deep into the Black and White deserts before relaxation at a luxury, beach-side hotel.

Highlights of the tour include:

- Two nights in Cairo with visits to Giza, the Pyramids and Sphinx, the Egyptian Museum and the Khan El Khalili Bazaar.
- Drive to the Oasis Bahariya and see the Temple of Alexander the Great as well as enjoying a walking tour on the Black Mountain.
- A safari trip by jeep in the Black and White deserts with a picnic at the Oasis El Haiz and a visit to the Crystal Mountain. Overnight in tented camp.
- By jeep and coach to Bir Regwa and on to the oases of Farafra and Dakhla through stunning sandstone scenery, mesas and sand dunes.
- Visits to the Kharga Oasis and the ancient town of Bala.
- Cross the Nile to the western bank of Thebes to explore the Valley of the Kings and the Karnak temple complex.

At the end of the tour there’s a coach transfer to Hurghada for seven nights at the five-star Grand Resort on half-board basis.

Prices lead in at £1539 per person (twin share) inclusive of return flights from Gatwick, all internal transport and half-board accommodation throughout.  This trip does not operate between 1 June and 31 August due to excessively high temperatures for touring.
