Lufthansa adds new summer flights from Munich

5th February 2010 Print

This summer Lufthansa is launching three new routes from Munich – to Tallinn and Rostock on the Baltic Sea and to Zadar on the Adriatic coast. The airline is also increasing its flights to popular Mediterranean destinations.

“Our customers flying from Munich have the widest choice of flights to European destinations within the Lufthansa route network. In economically difficult times it is particularly important to include more attractive destinations to our timetable,” says Thomas Klühr, Group Representative and Head of Hub Management Munich.

The new route to Tallinn will be launched on 26 March. The Estonian capital will be served daily by a Lufthansa Airbus A319, which will depart from Munich at 19.25 hrs. Tallinn is renowned for its mediaeval city centre and market square and was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1997.

Rostock, a port city in the eastern German state of Mecklenburg Western Pomerania, is an ideal starting point for a holiday on the Baltic coast.

From 27 March, a Lufthansa CityLine Bombardier CRJ900 will operate a weekend service to Rostock, making it an ideal destination for a short break. Flights will leave Munich at 7.40 hrs on Saturdays, and at 18.20 hrs on Sundays. The return flight each Saturday will arrive at Munich at 11.05 hrs, and at 21.45 hrs on the Sunday.

In addition, Lufthansa is also launching a new service to the Croatian city of Zadar. From 27 March, a Lufthansa CityLine Bombardier CRJ900 will serve the city on Saturdays. Zadar – “the jewel of Croatia” – has a rich cultural heritage and is an important gateway to the islands along the northern and southern Adriatic coast.

The popular summer destinations Faro, Split, Dubrovnik and Larnaca also feature again in the summer timetable. Starting 27 March, Faro in Portugal will be served every Saturday. Frequencies to Split and Dubrovnik in Croatia will be increased to four and five per week, respectively. Flights to Larnaca in Cyprus will operate four times a week in the summer schedule.

Return fares to all European destinations can be booked for as little as 99 euros. This fare applies to Economy Class and includes all taxes, charges and the Lufthansa Ticket Service Charge if the booking is made online at www.lufthansa.com. Miles & More members can earn miles on these flights.
