Brits to spend less on love this Valentine’s
Britons are planning to cut back their spending this Valentine's Day, according to new research by MSN Money.
The recession may be over but 59% of us will be spending less on our loved ones compared to last year.
Just one in ten of those polled said they would be spending more than in 2009 while a third said they would be spending the same.
Simon Ward, MSN Money's Senior Editor, comments: "It seems as if many of our loved ones are going to lose out this Valentine's as people continue to cut back their spending. Despite the recent good news about the end of the recession, it seems we're still unwilling to splash out until we're certain things have really improved for the better."
Here are MSN Money's top five tips for cutting the cost of Valentine's Day:
Keep your eyes open for special offers
Eat out the day before - or after
Don't get reeled in by Valentine's shop displays
Use price comparison sites to find out who's selling that special perfume cheapest
Shop around for your flowers - you could save a small fortune
