A new government funded scheme designed to help homebuyers on the property ladder is now available at Kingfishers Walk, Taylor Wimpey’s development of new homes in Rotherham.

The scheme, called HomeBuy Direct, provides buyers with an interest free equity loan for the first five years, for up to 30 per cent of the value of a property. The interest free equity loan is co-funded by the Homes and Communities Agency and Taylor Wimpey and is available to potential purchasers who have an annual household income of less than £60,000, subject to eligibility and affordability checks*.

Regional sales and marketing manager Anne Bagshaw said: “The scheme is designed to help overcome the hurdles of high mortgage costs and larger deposits, which we know are preventing some people from buying. HomeBuy Direct offers a great way for purchasers to afford their dream home and is ideal for many first time buyers.”

The scheme is available for two different styles of attractive three bedroom, two bathroom properties on the popular development.

The three storey Eden 1 townhouse is ideal for young professionals and benefits from fitted kitchen, cloakroom and spacious lounge with dining area on the ground floor and two bedrooms and the main bathroom on the first floor. The top floor is home to an impressive master suite which features a large dressing area and shower room.

The Millstone is proving to be popular with young families and, with a similar layout to the Eden 1 on the ground floor, there is a master bedroom with ensuite and study on first floor, with a family bathroom and two bedrooms on the top floor. Both properties are available under the HomeBuy Direct Scheme for just £125,997.

Anne commented: “We are expecting the homes available on the HomeBuy Direct Scheme to get snapped up very quickly so I urge any interested home seekers to register their interest soon to avoid disappointment.”

The Kingsfisher Walk development is part of Waterfront Dearne Valley, an impressive new 285 acre scheme of homes, office, shops and leisure facilities in Wath.

Anne added: “This is a lovely development close to the lake and the new golf course with walks nearby as well as the wetland centre and nature reserve. Residents can easily walk into Wath so it’s very convenient for shops and schools. There is also a large retail park nearby and a big Tesco, so residents have everything they need on their doorstep.”
