St George's Day inspires 'Old English Specials'

The Granville at Barford

The Granville at Barford is to honour the patron saint of England, St George, with a range of old English Specials. On Friday 23 April, guests can enjoy traditional favourites such as Faggots with onion gravy and Apple Pie. The award-winning dining pub will be decorated with English flags whilst old English ales such as Bombardier, will be on tap.

Guests can choose from a range of starters and main dishes including Roast British Beef, Faggots, Sausage & Mash, Vegetarian Shepherd’s Pie, Steak & Ale Pie and Crispy Beer Battered Fish with Chips & Mushy Peas. Old English desserts will include Apple Pie, Sherry Trifle, Bread & Butter Pudding and Treacle Tart. The cost ranges from £4.95 for starters and desserts and £7.95 to £10.95 for mains.

Val Kersey, Proprietor, stated “We’re thrilled to be holding our special St George’s Day celebration in honour of our English heritage. We’ve created a delicious range of English Specials featuring traditional favourites. With English flags, food, drinks and music, we hope to create a totally English ambience for our customers to enjoy”.
