UK’s largest ‘fitball’ workout

150 women descended on Trafalgar Square yesterday morning (Thursday 18th March) to take part in the UK’s largest outdoor fitball workout.
The event was timed to launch The Vitality Show 2010 - the UK's largest celebration of health, beauty, fitness and wellbeing for women.
As part of the event, healthcare provider Simplyhealth donated £15,000 to Breast Cancer Campaign – the equivalent of £100 for every attendee.
Armed with a brightly coloured fitball and yoga mat each, the women took part in the mass workout from 8.30am – 9.00am. The workout was led by celebrity trainer, Cat Dugdale who is the business partner of Sky Sports presenter, Georgie Thompson, and former trainer to Kiefer Sutherland. Cat orchestrated the session (set to the music from ‘Fame’) from a stage positioned below Nelson’s Column, facing towards the National Gallery.
All 150 volunteers were members of the general public, recruited through Facebook and Twitter campaigns throughout March.
Simplyhealth is the headline sponsor of the Vitality Show which runs from 18 - 21 March, 2010 at Earls Court 2 in London. Over 300 companies will be in attendance to share healthy eating advice, beauty solutions and fitness tips.
