Shakespeare invited to his own birthday party
A weekend of spirits and drama are planned at Stratford’s “most haunted building” to celebrate William Shakespeare’s birthday – and it is hoped that the Bard himself may make an appearance!
The Falstaff Experience on Sheep Street was once the site of the Three Tuns Tavern where Shakespeare was a regular customer.
Local theatre group Caramba will conduct three performances of Comedy of Errors during the afternoon of Saturday April 24, followed by evening ghost tours and then an all-night vigil conducted by haunted house experts Dusk Ttil Dawn.
The highlight of the Friday celebrations will be a Victorian Séance conducted by “Master of the Occult” Paul Voodini – one of Britain’s top mediums and psychics.
“We have dozens of resident spirits but we have never yet had a visit from Shakespeare himself,” says Janet Ford who runs The Falstaff Experience with her husband John
“Perhaps when he sees how well we are celebrating his birthday he will make a special appearance – we can only hope.”
