NatWest offers advice to travel insurance customers

NatWest offers advice to travel insurance customers after volcanic ash affects UK flights.

NatWest travel insurance customers, as well as those with one of our packaged accounts will be covered for travel delay and missed departure.

Simon Turner from Everyday Banking at NatWest comments: "This must be a worrying time for anyone booked on a flight and we want to remind customers what they are covered for with our insurance.

In the first instance, customers should check the status of their flight with their airline or tour operator.  If an airline cancels a flight, then customers can claim for a new flight from their airline.

"If a customer has the cost of a flight refunded, but still has accommodation booked that they can't cancel or use, these claims will be considered under their travel insurance - found under the section about delay leading to trip abandonment.

"As usual, customers will need to provide official, written evidence to support their claim. In this case, information from official airline websites is acceptable."
