Bastille Day celebrations in Hook Norton

5th July 2010 Print

Vive la France! A Hook Norton pub will be holding a special evening for lovers of French food and wine when they celebrate Bastille Day on July 14.

Warwickshire wine expert Alastair MacBrayne will introduce a French wine-tasting session at the Sun Inn in Hook Norton High Street, including choices from Arrogant Frog range and from the Chateau d’Anglès estate in the southern Languedoc region of France, while there will also be French food cooked on the barbecue.

“There is no doubt that over the past decade France has lost out to the “New World” wines but they are really fighting back now. The wines I will be introducing are high quality at reasonable prices. Make no mistake the French are back,” says Alastair, who runs the Dorje’s Wine Company in Warwick.
