Get on the right track for great food

The Midlands leading dining card has formed an exciting new partnership that will put its members on the right track to great food and cheaper rail travel.

The Gastro Card has joined forces with Chiltern Railways in a campaign that will see special card holders offered 10% off many Chiltern rail journeys while also providing exclusive dining discounts at over 170 top venues in the region.

The campaign will move into top gear at this weekend’s Taste of Birmingham spectacular to be held in Cannon Hill Park when 11,000 free cards will be distributed to visitors to the event.

Up to 1,000 VIP cards will be given to business leaders attending the Taste of Business breakfast that will take place before the major event opens to the public.

After that another, 10,000 special Gastro Cards will be handed out over the three days of the Taste on Birmingham. The VIP cards will be valid until the end of the year and the other cards until the end of October. All will offer a 10% travel discount with Chiltern Railways.

Geoff Abbott, who started The Gastro Card with business partner Trevor Land, said: “This is one of the major food events in the country and a fantastic opportunity for us to get our cards out in front of real ‘foodies’.

“We were delighted to join forces with Chiltern Railways and their 10% travel offer really adds strength to what The Gastro Card already offers. I am sure everyone will benefit from this partnership.

“When people have seen what they can save with their free Gastro Card then I am sure they will want to renew it once it reaches its expiry date.”

Chiltern Railways partnership manager Felix Pauli said he was very excited about joining forces with The Gastro Card and hoped thousands of people would take advantage of the free cards.
