Lee Hyett, 38, a station officer in London, and Dean Powell, 41, a police officer in Lewisham, have bought a new three-bedroom house at The Mill after a recommendation from a friend at the new Fairview New Homes development in South Darenth, Kent.

As second-time buyers, Lee and Dean were looking for a new-build property for convenience and ease of maintenance. Their first property was a refurbishment project in Dartford which took up a lot of their time. They were also looking for a quieter lifestyle in a more rural location.

Lee comments: “A friend told us about their new home at The Mill and how the properties are situated on the site of the historic Horton Kirby paper mill on the River Darenth. It sounded idyllic and we could imagine ourselves living there after the first visit to the development.”

“We went to see the houses and couldn’t believe how spacious they were. Plus, they’re tucked away in a quiet corner of the development which means they are very private. They are also located right along the river – a very welcome change from the main road-frontage of our old house!”

“We bought a three-bedroom house for £265,000 and part-exchanged on our old home at market price, thanks to Fairview,” adds Lee. “We are so pleased with our new home that we have been raving about it to everyone we know. Now, two more of our friends are looking into buying at The Mill!”

Jim Holliday, Sales Director of Fairview New Homes, comments: “We have had a few buyers coming to us who have been recommended to the development by friends. To show our appreciation, we are now offering those who refer friends to The Mill, who subsequently complete on a property, a £2,000 thank you gift. This offer is only available to the first five people who recommend a friend over June and July this year”.

Fairview New Homes are now releasing six more houses at The Mill – three converted properties in The Stables and three in The Gables. Fairview are encouraging potential buyers to contact the sales team quickly to avoid any disappointment.

The Mill is just a 35 minute train journey from London Victoria. This quick and easy journey home from the city to the peace and quiet of the countryside makes living in Kent a great option. Farningham Road Train station is less than half a mile away with regular direct services to London Victoria.

Bluewater shopping centre is less than five miles away with more than 320 shops, restaurants and a multiplex cinema. The historic Leeds Castle is only 30 miles away.

Apart from one, two, three and four-bedroom houses and cottages at The Mill, there are also one and two-bedroom apartments still available. Prices for a one-bedroom apartment start from as little as £131,995 and prices for a three-bedroom house start from as little as £250,000.
