There are loads of reasons to jump on a plane with your family this winter. Why not escape the cold for an unforgettable self-drive New Zealand summer family holiday, in a Britz camper rental?

When you choose a Britz Campervan holiday, the journey will deliver as many happy memories as the destination. Britz has a range of Campervans New Zealand and rental cars available that let you explore New Zealand’s wonderland and savour the journey in your home away from home.

Britz Brand Manager Sharron Clark says, “We’ve fitted out our campervans with families in mind. There’s a decent sized fridge so you can stock up on all your family favourites before you head away. You’ll feel ‘right at home’ from the minute you pick up the keys and slip into the freshly laundered sheets. While you’re enjoying the scenery and conversation up front, the rest of your crew can enjoy the view and space out back - so everyone’s happy.”

Britz Brand Manager Sharron Clark says: All Britz campervans have been designed to maximise space providing you with everything you need for that stress free family getaway. From towels and linen to cutlery and can openers, your Britz camper comes fully equipped, leaving you with nothing to think about except your next destination.

A Britz campervan also gives you the flexibility to travel and stay for as little or as long as you like. Whether you fall in love with the thermal hot pools in Rotorua or the long, sandy beaches of 90 mile beach you’ll have the freedom to enjoy them for as long as you want.

Here are just a few other ideas to whet your appetite for exploring New Zealand this summer in your Britz campervan:

South Island

Kick off your visit in the South Islands West Coast. Park up and watch the sunset over the glorious rugged scenery.

Hokitika Wild Food Festival (March 12) is rated by Frommers as one of its top ‘unmissable’ worldwide festivals. Eat and drink all sorts of weird and wonderful things including huhu grubs and other local delicacies. Numbers are limited so check this out before you leave home.

Drive north to Greymouth via the incredible Fox and Franz Joseph Glaciers and write your own personal note amongst the famous collection of driftwood messages in Bruce Bay. Venture further north to Punakaiki and watch the sea come to life, shooting through the blow wholes at the magnificent Pancake Rocks. With Britz you can get up close and personal to the wonders of the great New Zealand scenery.

North Island

Waitomo Caves is a must see for New Zealand visitors of all ages and is an ideal stopover on the way to Rotorua. It will take you two and a half drive hours from Auckland. This subterranean wonderland can be experienced in the traditional guided boats or, if you’re in need of an adrenalin injection, why not challenge your senses climbing, tubing and abseiling with either the Black Labyrinth or Black Abyss adventure options with the legendary Black Water Rafting Co.

Auckland and surrounds

Many people choose to collect their Britz campervan in Auckland, the City of Sails, which really comes alive in summer. You can choose from organised boat trips to one of the Hauraki Gulf’s volcanic islands like Rangitoto, enjoy a leisurely lunch on one of the many vineyard restaurants on Waiheke Island or experience for yourself the beauty of boating on one of New Zealand’s most beautiful harbours.

A short day trip from Auckland will find you in Matakana, famous for its gourmet food and produce market held every weekend. Just around the corner is Goat Island, a marine reserve where you can snorkel or dive and be awed by the beautiful local protected marine species.

With Britz you can create your own unique adventure and enjoy the lasting family memories.
