Wine tasting in Bordeaux

Sample a taste of Bordeaux with Grape Escapes’ brand new range of flexible wine-tasting city-breaks from just £254 per person.

Based in the riverside city of Bordeaux, the new bespoke breaks feature guided Châteaux tours by day and wine-tasting sessions in traditional bordelaise bars by night.

The tailor-made itineraries guided vineyard tours to four of France’s finest and most lauded wine growing sub-regions; Médoc, home to the region’s most famous Châteaux such as Margaux, Latife, Latour and Mouton Rothschild; Sauternes, celebrated for its sweet desert wines; Graves and the UNESCO World Heritage Town of St Emilion.

There are three different packages to choose from, each offering guests the chance to spend evenings under the tutelage of charismatic local hosts who will talk through tastings of three Bordeaux wines, accompanied by cheeses and meats.

Basic Bordeaux packages start at just £254 per person based on two people sharing a twin room. The package includes two nights’ stay in a city centre hotel, a half day guided tour to either Graves, Sauternes or Médoc, three course lunch or dinner with accompanying wines and tutored tasting session in a Bordelaise bar with cheese and meats.

Standard Bordeaux packages start at £291 per person based on two-sharing including a two-night stay in stay in a city centre hotel, full day guided tour to either Médoc or St Emilion, a tutored tasting session in a convivial bordelaise bar with cheese and meats, a four-course gourmet dinner in premium city centre restaurant with accompanying wines.

Standard Plus packages start from £419 and include a three-night stay in central Bordeaux based on two-sharing, all the delights of the standard package and an extra half-day guided tour to either Graves, Sauternes or Médoc.

Packages are available on week-days or weekends year-round, subject to availability. Travel from the UK is not included.
