As South African fever continues to grip the nation this summer, Shaka Zulu restaurant is proud to open its carved wooden doors to London’s cosmopolitan scene. This breathtaking two-storied venue located in the heart of Stables Market Camden, showcases the best in African cuisine.

With a Cape Town inspired fish bar and cocktail lounges overlooking an incredible ornate wood carved dining theatre, Shaka Zulu is set to be the ultimate destination in the Capital.

The main restaurant will present The Shaka Zuku Theatre of Food – diverse cuisine from all parts of South Africa and beyond. Internationally renowned Head Chef, Barry Vera has carefully selected a traditional menu in order to showcase the originality and flair of South African culture.

To achieve this, Barry has created a unique menu with dishes ranging from Seared Ostrich, Kudu, Marinated Springbok and the Shaka Zulu signature dish ‘KarooLamb’. All of this traditional African food will be cooked using open flame grills in a world class kitchen.

Launching on August 4th August 2010, Shaka Zulu will receive official blessing from HRH Goodwill Zwelithini, as he makes a special trip to the UK in honour of this momentous occasion. Combined with his royal presence and a host of supporting celebrities, Shaka Zulu is set to raise London’s cosmopolitan standards by combining an authentic African dining experience with contemporary panache and charm. In order to provide guests with a truly sensory experience, a number of intimate celebrity hosted evenings have been scheduled especially to showcase Shaka Zulu’s versatile space.

The scale of Shaka Zulu will be in keeping with the heritage of the great African King. In the main restaurant, a number of wooden carved murals will cover every inch of Shaka Zulu’s walls and ceiling. This is beautifully complimented by an impressive water garden feature, complete with delicate gold-painted tiles and a Swarovski crystal leopard centrepiece. Guests can expect to be entertained by a mixture of authentic dancers, drummers and live music in the early evening, before this crosses over into a vibrant contemporary mix of smooth beats later on in the evening.

Stretching beyond the realms of traditional dining, the warrior inspired Zulu Lounge offers guests with the opportunity to sit down, relax and absorb the authentic atmosphere. Shaka Zulu is proud to boast the UK’s largest South African wine list featuring over 98 wines, ensuring the perfect accompaniment for your evening. Exclusive to Shaka Zulu is the private members area, The King’s Club. Located in an intimate area on the lower floor, The Kings Club ensures diners will experience the best view of the restaurant, providing a perfect backdrop for entertaining guests.

Created on an unimaginable scale, Shaka Zulu will be the perfect venue to host a range of product launches, private parties, fashion shows and corporate events.
