Ski holidays for kids

2nd September 2010 Print

What do you do when the kids are pining for the piste and Mum and Dad hate the thought of a family ski holiday?  Let children’s activity holiday leaders PGL whisk them off to Austria on Boxing Day, that’s what.

Children from 13 to 17 inclusive can enjoy a fully supervised nine-day ski holiday at an alpine youth centre for only £949 this winter – or £995 for Snowboard specialists.

Luxury coaches depart Manchester*, Birmingham*, London and Dover (or Folkestone) on 26 December for overnight travel to Austria and six days of skiing or boarding at Zell am See, Kaprun, in the heart of the Europa Sport Region.

The price includes six days’ hire of boots, skis and sticks, a six-day lift pass and group instruction on six days from qualified instructors, who may be PGL staff or local English-speaking guides.

The price also includes comprehensive winter sports and travel insurance.

No child may ski alone, but there are plenty of opportunities for exploring the runs and having supervised fun.  The après ski is pretty good too, including bowling and ice-skating evenings in the resort and games rooms and DVDs showing at the youth centres.

Full board is provided at the youth centres, with children accommodated in four to eight-bedded ensuite rooms.  All children need to bring with them is ski gear such as jacket, trousers, gloves and goggles and PGL will return the tired but happy teenagers on 3 January in good time for the new term.
