Local housebuilder raises money for charity

Local housebuilder Millwood Designer Homes raised over £4,000 for Hospice in the Weald after racing at the Dragon Boat Festival at Bewl Water, Lamberhurst, on Saturday 11th September.

Not even the rain could dampen the team’s spirits and after enduring four tiring races and a lot of wet clothes, they were thrilled to come 9th out of the 54 teams that competed.

Richard Elliott, Sales Manager of Millwood Designer Homes, was thrilled with the result. “I am so proud of everyone who took part. It has been a long day but we have all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the fact that we have raised so much for our nominated charity makes the aches and pains worth it!

“Not only did we come ninth out of 54 teams, we also had the third fastest run overall. I think that is pretty impressive when you consider that we have never done this before and were up against many teams that have previously competed at the Dragon Boat Festival, some for many years. Let’s just say I think we will be the team to watch out for next year!”
