Raja of Kent supports 'Fight Hunger - Eat Out'

The Raja of Kent restaurant near Tenterden in Kent will donate £1 each time some orders a special set menu created especially for the Fight Hunger - Eat Out campaign, until the end of October.

The £15.95 fixed-price menu includes the award-winning Indian restaurant’s favourite dishes. The popular Raja Platter starter is a delicious selection of vegetable, meat and chicken specialities.

For mains there is a choice of their top-selling Chicken Tikka Masala, Kudu Goost a traditional Bangladeshi Lamb dish with sweet pumpkin in a thickly spiced sauce, or Korahi - diced chicken or lamb cooked in aromatic spiced sauce. Included in the promotion is a choice of six vegetable side dishes and rice or naan bread.

“By running this charity event with our most popular dishes, we hope to raise a significant contribution to this worthy cause,” said owner RK Raja.

The busy 100-seater venue will also host a special gourmet dining evening to mark its 6th anniversary on Thursday 23rd September.

The 2009 winner of Kent Restaurant Awards for ‘Best Indian’ will serve a an exquisite 5-course tasting menu, showcasing its finest dishes including delicacies such as scallop, pheasant, duck and venison. Each course will be served with a different matched wine supplied by Hix & Buck, which is run by a former Bollywood dancer.

Set in a rural location in a former coaching inn, the reputation for the Raja of Indian’s is such that customers are drawn from across the Kent, with many regulars travelling on a weekly basis from London.
