Lysanda and TNT take part in Drive Me challenge

8th October 2010 Print

Lysanda, provider of advanced technology for vehicle fuel savings, in conjunction with international delivery provider TNT, will be taking part in the Drive Me challenge to promote awareness about increasing vehicle fuel efficiency. The Drive Me Challenge involves 16 teams from TNT offices across the globe competing to be the most fuel efficient.

Lysanda’s Eco-LogM Metro technology will be fitted into each team’s vehicles to calculate the energy used and emissions produced. The Eco-Log Metro unit uses signals and data from each vehicle’s on board diagnostic (OBD) port to gather vital powertrain data, which is filtered, processed and modelled to produce accurate fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and driver behaviour information. This valuable data is then instantly fed back to the driver through an in-vehicle display and sent back to a centralised reporting system for further analysis.

By looking at the real-time result feed, each driver can make simple changes to driving behaviours in order to reduce emissions and cut fuel consumption. The team who has proven to be the most economical will win the challenge.

Lysanda will also be supporting the DriversChallenge 2010, a joint event between TNT and DHL that launched on 7th October 2010 in Holland.

“We are proud to support the TNT Drive Me Challenge for the second year running”, said Alex Willard, CEO, Lysanda. “Eco-Log Metro was developed to accurately measure CO2 emissions and understand how much fuel fleets use and why. Armed with this information, Eco-Log Metro will aid any company who owns or operates a fleet of vehicles to identify avoidable CO2, as well as find how much fuel is wasted and more importantly why.”

"Lowering emissions and fuel costs can be directly influenced by the right foot of our drivers. Our annual global Drive Me Challenge is a testimonial for that. And also our partner Lysanda, which helps improve driver behaviour in a real time setting," said Carin Ten Hage, Director of TNT’s Planet Me Programme.

Lysanda have been working with TNT Express, TNT Post and Express Road Networks since 2008 and are now working with TNT divisions across the globe.
