When Taylor Wimpey sales negotiator, Julie Wilson, moved to West Wales to start looking for her perfect retirement property and artist’s studio, little did she know she would end up buying on the very development she was selling.

Julie Wilson, 58, has worked as a sales negotiator for 19 years. She has never made it a secret to her employer that she wanted to move to West Wales to retire. So when a sales job came up in the area she was delighted to move to St Clears.

Julie said: “I’m an artist and a poet and it had always been my intention to move to West Wales when I retired. The light here is so wonderful for painting. So when I was offered a job at Cefn Maes in St Clears, I snapped up the opportunity.

“When I moved here to start the job, I began looking for my dream property. I envisaged myself in a little cottage with a studio. I looked and looked but with my budget I could only afford properties which needed a lot of work. And that wasn’t the point. In my retirement I wanted to be painting not doing DIY jobs.

“Then it struck me, I had been selling houses here at Cefn Maes, telling everyone how wonderful the site was. The homes are brand new and have everything I wanted within my budget and with absolutely no DIY to do. So, I decided to buy a property here and because I bought off plan I was able to pick my plot. The garden has dual aspect so I can position my studio to make the most of the north facing light which is perfect for painting. The house itself is a Malbury house style which is plenty big enough for when my daughters come to stay, so I’ve got the best of both worlds – I’m delighted.”

Sara Taylor, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey South Wales, said:

“We were pleased to be able to offer Julie this sales position so she could fulfil her dream and retire here, but we’re over the moon that she chose a Taylor Wimpey property in which to fulfil that dream.”

Cefn Maes is an impressive development of three, four and five bedroom detached homes located in the picturesque town of St. Clears. Nestled between the bustling town of Carmarthen and the seaside resorts of Pembrokeshire, the development offers purchasers all the trappings of a rural lifestyle, with easy access to every day amenities.
