Family fun at new show village in Ystrad Mynach

Families in the market for a traditional new home can join in the fun with Redrow this weekend (October 30/31) at the grand opening of a new ‘show village’.
The award-winning housebuilder is set to launch no less than six professionally designed show homes from its New Heritage Collection at Cwm Calon, in Ystrad Mynach. The event will be a day for the whole family to enjoy with an old-fashioned sweet stall serving fresh popcorn and toffee apples to visitors.
The New Heritage Collection is a premium housing product with more than a hint of nostalgia, influenced by the ‘Arts and Crafts’ era, but boasting a specification to meet the needs of modern lifestyles. Redrow has deliberately set out to reintroduce a high degree of individuality to the way its homes look and feel.
Luly Brice, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Wales), said: “We want to make the launch event a day for everyone to enjoy, including mums, dad and children to reflect the fact that our new homes have been designed with family life in mind.
“It’s a chance to see everything our New Heritage Collection has to offer. We’ve got houses to suit every type of buyer and the new show homes will be the shop window.”
The six show homes due to open are the four-bedroom Canterbury, Lincoln and Cambridge housetypes, the three-bedroom Broadway and Warwick and the two-bedroom Evesham. They have all been professionally styled and furnished by Redrow’s chosen team of interior designers.
Stand out features include large kitchen / dining room in the largest executive home in the collection – the Canterbury. There’s large glass-top six-seat dining table beneath a feature chandelier, making it the perfect place to entertain. Elsewhere in the home there’s a glamourous master bedroom with an ornate ivory French style headboard and sumptuous layered bed linen. Bedroom two is a luxurious guest room and bedrooms three and four have been styled for young children; one with an X Factor theme, complete with glittering microphone, and the other is themed around Toy Story 3, featuring Woody and Buzz murals.
Each home has been designed to suit the real lives of potential purchasers, so the two-bedroom Evesham has been given a more contemporary feel to suit its younger profile, and the larger family homes have been filled with eclectic and traditional items of furniture that families may have brought with them from previous homes.
The third bedroom in the Broadway has been styled as a nursery, complete with the scent of talcum powder in the air. Colour palettes are classic and timeless, including use of soft creams, greys and ivory touches of rich chocolate and metallic gold and bronze accents featuring in some of the homes. They are all designed to be lived in for years to come.
Homebuyers can visit the development now for pre-show home prices.
Situated opposite Parc Penallta Country Park, Cwm Calon has been designed as an urban village with a real community feel.
The nearby railway station offers easy travel to Cardiff in just 20 minutes and the new road link to the A470 makes the area ideal for commuting to Cardiff and Newport.
