Stunning new showhomes at Pentref Newydd

25th October 2010 Print

More than 100 people turned out for the much anticipated launch of the first showhomes at Taylor Wimpey’s new development, Pentref Newydd at Parc Derwen in Coity, where they were treated to live music, dancing and great food!

The Fernlea and Heydon showhomes were officially opened this weekend by the first purchaser at the development, Gemma Jones, who came along as guest of honour to cut the ribbon. Taylor Wimpey then presented each of its purchasers, who have bought off plan, with a beautiful bouquet of flowers before allowing them the first look around the new showhomes.

Once the formalities were over, visitors were able to view the two properties at their leisure and then enjoy live music from Green Lantern Smooth Jazz Combo and refreshments – with many getting up to have a dance!

Sara Taylor, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey South Wales, commented: “We were delighted with the number of people who came along to get the first glimpse of the new showhomes at Pentref Newydd as there has been considerable interest in the development since we announced we would be building in Coity. There was a real buzz in the air as people walked around the showhomes and enjoyed the entertainment and the feedback was fantastic.

“It’s great to finally be able to showcase the quality and design of the homes on offer at Pentef Newydd and we hope the showhomes will really help people envisage life at the development. The show complex is now open daily so anyone who couldn’t come along to the launch is welcome to pop in anytime.”

First resident, Gemma Jones, has bought a three bedroom detached property off plan at Pentref Newydd. She comments: “I live in Brackla and wanted a more spacious home and somewhere local. I’d seen the signs go up for Taylor Wimpey’s new development so I gave them a call to register my interest and soon bought off plan. The sales executive was so helpful and has kept me updated every step of the way. I’m now looking forward to moving into my new home in December. It was great to finally see the showhomes open – they are stunning and gave me real confidence that I’ve made the right decision to buy a Taylor Wimpey home.”

The new showhomes at Pentref Newydd illustrate two of the four bedroom detached style homes available at the development and both have been decorated and fully furnished to an exceptional standard.

The Fernlea property is ideal for anyone looking for a traditional design with generous living space. The property comprises a large lounge, with doors leading out into the garden, a separate dining room and well appointed kitchen with an adjoining utility room. On the second floor, the master bedroom benefits from an ensuite shower room and fitted wardrobes while three additional double bedrooms are served by a family bathroom.

In contrast, the Heydon showhome offers a more contemporary design and layout. The open plan kitchen and dining room offers the perfect space for cooking and eating side by side and the generous lounge, spanning the full length of the property, is ideal for entertaining. A useful study and utility room are also located on the ground floor while upstairs, the master bedroom and second double room both enjoy an ensuite shower room, while the master bedroom also benefits from fitted wardrobes. Two further bedrooms share the main family bathroom.

Pentref Newydd is located off Heol West Plas and offers a stylish collection of two, three, four and five bedroom traditional brick homes, each designed to blend perfectly with the ‘garden village’ theme of Parc Derwen. The first properties are currently available to buy off plan including the two bedroom semi-detached Douglas style home, the three bedroom Chatsworth style townhouse and four bedroom detached Fernlea, Heydon and Malbury style properties. Prices currently start at £130,500.

Pentref Newydd is part of the Parc Derwen development located in the village of Coity near Bridgend. Once completed, Parc Derwen will be a thriving new community and will comprise a school, community centre and local shops. In addition, a number of footpaths, cycleways and quiet roads will be created to link the development to the village. While enjoying a village setting, the development is just a short drive from junction 36 of the M4, making it the ideal location for commuters.
