New Zealand shows off its quiet side

27th October 2010 Print

New Zealand, the adventure capital of the world, is keen to display its less adrenaline fuelled side in a bid to attract more prospective tourists from the UK.

The popular destination, which is known as an adventure mecca, can also offer spectacular landscapes, an intriguing history and an interesting culture, which are important elements to Brits who want to visit New Zealand.

The majority of British people who want to travel to New Zealand vote getting an adrenaline rush as the last thing they want in life and deemed safety, happiness and relaxation as their most important aspects*.

Australasia specialist, Austravel, has also seen similar trends and reports that the majority of their customers purchase less adventurous activities when travelling in New Zealand.

"We have a broad spectrum of customers but the common factor among them seems to be that they prefer to go for excursions and tours that take in cultural attractions and the countryside rather than excitement and adventure," says Ben Briggs, Austravel brand manager.

"Although we have a selection of more adrenaline based options available, these are usually only chosen by a certain type of younger traveller."

However, Brits still like to have fun, enjoy themselves and learn about new countries and, as the leading tour operator for Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, Austravel prides itself on finding the perfect trip for all its customers.

The specialist has therefore partnered with APT to offer £150 off New Zealand escorted tours, all of which are ideal for the less audacious British traveller. The tours must last for 10 days or more and must depart before 31 March 2011.

The following is an example of an APT New Zealand tour:
