London to host UK’s biggest dance event
Media 10, Britain’s fastest growing events and publishing company, have today announced that they are to launch the newest and biggest UK dance event Got to Dance Live in London next March, in partnership with Sky.
The new three day event, Sky’s first consumer event based on the hugely successful and popular TV show Got to Dance, will bring the TV series to life at London Excel from 4th – 6th March 2011.
Got to Dance Live is a celebration of all things dance related, offering 3 fun packed days of dance classes, performances, TV stars, entertainment, and shopping, suitable for professional dancers, aspiring talents, newcomers and TV show fans alike.
Visitors will have the chance to improve their own dance skills, by taking part in a variety of dance classes, as part of their day at Got to Dance Live. The classes will be held within the event, in one of 12 studios, and will be taught by leading dance professionals as recommended by the Got to Dance team. Each visitor can take up to three classes a day, bookable in advance, and covering a wide range of dance genres including Belly Dancing, Breakdance, Bollywood, Ballroom, Burlesque, Commercial, Contemporary, Disco, Flamenco, Flexibility, Funk, Hip Hop, House Dance, Jazz, Jive, Musical Theatre, Rock and Roll, Salsa, Streetdance, Swing, Tap & Urban. Beginner, intermediate and expert classes are available, offering something for all ability and experience levels.
Fans of the TV show can see the Got to Dance judges appear at the event and even learn the judges’ own killer moves. Plus acts from Series Two of Got to Dance, which is back on Sky1 HD from January 2011, will also perform at the event, along with other favourites from Series One.
There’s also the opportunity for visitors to show off their own skills on the Freestyle stages, and the chance to be spotted by talent scouts and secret spotters from TV shows, musicals, and theatre productions, who will be on the look-out for upcoming talent.
A Princess Productions/Shine TV co-production, Got To Dance is also a success on globally with major productions underway in Australia and the USA, whose version ‘Live to Dance’ launches on CBS in the new year.

Got To Dance launched on Sky 1 in January 2010 and will be back on screens in the New Year featuring a huge variety of talented dancers competing to be one of 28 semi-finalists in the running for the £250,000 prize money.
