Taylor Wimpey delivers top sports venue in Maidstone

A new sports centre is set to open its doors to the public with funding from Taylor Wimpey’s Kings Walk development of new homes in Maidstone.
People in Maidstone can look forward to enjoying sports and exercise in a brand new state-of-the-art leisure centre – thanks to Taylor Wimpey, the leading developer behind the popular Kings Walk development of houses for sale in Maidstone.
The housebuilder has funded a brand new sports and community centre as part of the masterplan for Kings Walk, a collection of high-quality Maidstone flats and houses located in Melrose Close, Loose.
The centre, which will be run by Maidstone YMCA, opens its doors to the public for the first time in January 2011.
Mark Pajak, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey South East, says: “We are proud of our reputation of being not just housebuilders, but the builders of new communities.
“The brand new sports and community centre was an integral part of our plans for the Kings Walk development of property for sale in Maidstone and the surrounding area and will be a facility that all local people can benefit from and enjoy.
“Plus, people who have moved into our new houses and flats in Maidstone at Kings Walk who are new to the area and keen to settle in can do so easily thanks to having this magnificent community hub on their doorstep.”
The centre’s manager, Angela Creighton adds: “It’s great to hear so much enthusiasm from the local community about the new centre. We are very much looking forward to the launch in January.”
The new centre boasts a fitness suite, a group exercise studio, a sports hall, a floodlit all-weather games pitch and a cafe bar.
A host of organised activities will be available once the facility has opened, including roller skating, children’s dance classes and fitness classes, while there is also room for a playgroup and local groups to hold meetings and for event hire.
Quick-off-the-mark customers still have time to make Kings Walk their home, as a handful of beautiful three-bedroom houses remain for sale, priced from as little as £199,995.
Homebuyer incentives include help with deposits, moving costs and the opportunity to relax and let Taylor Wimpey find a purchaser for a current home. Each incentives package can be tailored to customers’ individual circumstances and is subject to availability. Further information is available from the Sales Executive.
Kings Walk is just over a mile from Maidstone town centre, the new Fremlin Walk shopping centre, Mall Chequers Centre and a choice of supermarkets.
In addition to the new leisure and community centre, the town already boasts swimming pools, a bowling alley, a multi-screen cinema and theatres, and the development also benefits from close proximity to a choice of good local schools for children of all ages.
For commuters, the M20 is within easy reach, and the M25 is only 25 miles further on, while regular rail services to London run from Maidstone East, and Ashford International offers quick links to the Continent.
To be in with a chance of securing one of the final new homes at Kings Walk, would-be movers can visit the Sales Centre, located off Melrose Close, Loose, Maidstone, and open Thursday to Monday from 9.30am to 5pm.
