Round the world tickets take off
Leading flights specialist, Round the World Experts has seen the sales of business and first class round the world air tickets leap 166% in the past six months, growing an impressive 55% in the last three months.
Round the World Experts expects demand for business class itineraries, which cost from £4,649 per person for a seven stop trip to continue to grow even more in 2011. The travel company has also revealed that it has recently seen its biggest ever single round the world booking - a £50,000 first class world tour which incorporated 5* stops in Asia and Australia, luxury yacht charter in the Whitsundays and a place on the lead boat for Sydney New Year's Eve flotilla.
Paul Bondsfield, Head of Marketing at Round the World Experts said of the trend; "We're seeing the growth of a new, completely different type of round the world traveller with demand for business and first class itineraries trebling in the last six months. The people going on these trips are mostly over 50 professionals, who still have the burning ambition to see the world and experience new cultures. They are inspired by younger travellers and are looking for similar experiences in the same destinations, but with an added element of comfort."
"The trend for graduates moving back into the family home is encouraging parents to take these big adventure trips as they know their homes are being looked after. For many adventurers, a major round the world experience is a more attractive alternative to investing in overseas or holiday properties. With a typical business class return flight to Hong Kong or Los Angeles often costing over £4,000, these tickets, effectively give people eight business class flights for the price of two."
