Natter - a new way to make friends online

17th January 2011 Print

Natter, the simple and - most importantly - clean way for people to meet and make new friends on the web, has launched today. Via a Facebook login, Natter enables users to find new people to chat to on webcam – allowing people to make friends close to home, or from around the world.

Natter works in a uniquely simple and innovative way, with built-in safeguards to ensure the experience is enjoyable and rewarding for all users. With a working webcam, and a genuine Facebook account, there are just three simple steps to using Natter:

1. Select the type of person you are interested in meeting and the location of that person.
2. Have a Natter for your designated one minute and remember to be polite.
3. Choose whether to continue your chat and possibly add your new friend on Facebook.

At the end of every successful one-minute chat, both users receive a ‘Natter Point’. Collecting as many of these as possible benefits the Natter user in the future by indicating they are a polite, friendly and fun person for other ‘Natterers’ to chat to.

Backed by CEO and co-founder, Neil Stanley (ex-Goldman Sachs and Lombard Odier), Natter’s management team have fantastic experience of launching dating websites across a wide range of niche dating platforms.

Neil Stanley, Natter CEO, said:

“After a lot of hard work we are absolutely delighted to be launching Natter today. Natter is going to perfectly fit the gap in the social online market – it’s about making friends and connecting with new people, with no pressure find a date and certainly no rudeness or harassment.

"What also makes Natter’s management different and interesting is that it has been led by Phil Harris and Tom Fide – two young guys who really understand what their generation is looking for in terms of online chat and meeting people. They had been looking for a place online where they could safely have a Natter, and possibly meet new friends, but that kind of site just didn’t exist. So they decided to build one!

"Using Natter is so easy, and so much fun, I can’t wait to see it take off.”
