Redrow bets on RBS Six Nations Tournament

It could be win win for a Cardiff cancer charity this year, after housebuilders Redrow have placed a bet on the RBS Six Nations Tournament.
The bets placed by Redrow managing director, Stuart Rowlands and sales and marketing director, Debby Pavitt will see The Joshua Foundation quids in if either Wales or England win the grand slam.
Stuart, who hails from Basingstoke has put down £50 on England triumphing at this year’s tournament, while Merthyr-born Debbie has placed £50 on Wales taking the title.
The pair has promised that either way, the proceeds will go to the company’s adopted charity, The Joshua Foundation.
Stuart moved to Wales in 2008 to take up his post at Redrow in Cardiff. He said: “It takes a brave man to admit to being English in Wales during rugby season but we all go to the home games together and enjoy good banter.
“I’m hoping for an English win on Friday of course and if they do well against the Welsh in Wales, then there’s every chance they could go all the way.”
Debby added: “I’ll be at the game with colleagues and I’ll be cheering for Wales of course. Coming from Merthyr Tydfil, I’ve been brought up on rugby and will be supporting them from beginning to end.”
If England win the grand slam, The Joshua Foundation will enjoy an estimated £275.00 payout from Redrow’s bet. If Wales reign supreme, the charity will receive and estimated £1,050.00.
Sarah Cornelius-Price, president of The Joshua Foundation, said: “People never cease to amaze me with the creative ways they fundraise for us. It looks like I’ll be supporting Wales and England this year.”
Rugby fever is also making its mark at Redrow’s Cwm Calon site in Ystrad Mynach where visitors can register to win a pair of tickets to the Wales v Ireland clash in Cardiff in March.
