Free 'Thrice Cooked Chips' at The Pearson's Arms

During schools’ half term holiday, which this year coincides with National Chip Week (21st to 27th February), TV chef Richard Phillips is offering visitors to The Pearson’s Arms pub in Whitstable, a free portion of his gourmet Thrice Cooked Chips.
With many regulars describing them a the “Best in Kent”, triple frying delivers a chip that is “extra fluffy inside but is uniquely crisp on the outside,” according to Phillips who has invested over £100,000 refurbishing the seafront pub which reopened just before Christmas.
All children accompanied midweek by an adult ordering a main during the school break, will receive a compilmentary serving of chips. Customers ordering their first pint or large glass of wine will also be offered a free portion.
The move is part of the celebrated Kent chef’s vision for The Pearson’s Arms to become a true community pub while retaining a welcome to tourists and those in search of a great night out.
“The Pearson’s Arm is place to bring the whole family, to meet friends, relax and have a good time,” he said.
An addition to the a la carte menu created by Phillips and his head chef Cameron MacLean, bar snacks include jellied eels, home made crisps and deep fried crispy pigs ears.
