Family buys new home in Wrexham with help from Redrow

‘easi:buy’ helped make buying a home at Ty Newydd, Wrexham, more affordable for Ian Birch and his family.

With equity tied up in their old home in Stoke, Ian Birch and his family were worried they wouldn’t be able to afford to buy a property in Wrexham until they discovered Redrow’s ‘easi:buy’ scheme.

Ian, partner Jacqueline and their two-year-old son Jude recently moved into their three-bedroom ‘Broadway’ at Ty Newydd.

“We relocated from Stoke, renting out our house in Stoke and renting ourselves in Wrexham. I’ve never been happy renting as there’s nothing to show for the money you invest, so we started looking at homes to buy,” Ian explained.

“Because we’ve still got the house in Stoke we had limited funds available for a new home and were delighted when we heard about ‘easi:buy’ because it meant we could buy a property of our own at a price we can afford.”

‘easi:buy allows customers to defer paying 15% of the purchase price of a brand new home for up to 10 years. The outstanding balance can be repaid at any time over the 10 years when the purchaser has more funds available or when they come to resell.

“We’re only paying £100 a month more than when we were renting and it’s a similar sized property. Plus when we sell the house in Stoke we will be able to use some of that money to pay off the loan on our new home,” Ian commented.

And while their home looks traditional on the outside, it’s bright and modern inside with a convivial open plan layout that puts the kitchen at the heart of the home.

“Moving in somewhere brand new, where no one else has lived in means you can put your own stamp on it from day one. The kitchen is great and because the appliances are built into the design we didn’t have to worry about buying them or having them installed,” Ian added.

“The quality and finish of the homes is second to none. It’s the little details like the chrome sockets that makes the difference. The Redrow specification is simply awesome and we couldn’t fault their standard of customer service.”

Current availability at Ty Newydd includes a selection of three and four-bedroom homes, with prices from £174,995.

The development is close to Wrexham town centre and within easy reach of the North Wales Coast. The bright lights of Chester city centre are just a short journey away.
