Traditional homes for modern life in Maidstone

Redrow's exclusive New Heritage Collection is launching in Maidstone this Saturday (March 5), bringing instantly recognisable, traditional looking homes which combine the best of old and new.
The New Heritage Collection is a premium housing product with more than a hint of nostalgia, influenced by the ‘Arts and Crafts’ era, but boasting a specification to meet the needs of modern lifestyles.
A new selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes will go on sale at The Grange, off Sutton Road, with two new show homes to showcase the high specification interiors.
Customers who reserve before the end of March will get carpets included throughout their new home and a complimentary removals service; plus launch day visitors will be entered into a free prize draw to win an iPad.
Being built on the former site of Senacre College, alongside Redrow’s existing Sutton Woods venture, the new homes are designed to stand out from the crowd.
Just as the Arts and Crafts era (c1850 – 1915) grew from the desire to bring back the skill and creativity of the individual craftsman and revive the simplicity and honesty in the way buildings and furnishings were made, Redrow has deliberately set out to reintroduce a high degree of individuality to the way its homes look and feel.
These traditional exteriors hide a contemporary interior specification, featuring convivial open plan living spaces, fashionable kitchen designs with floor to ceiling units, central islands and top brand name appliances, plus bathrooms that are sleek, modern and pleasing to the eye.
The ‘best of old and new’ approach also means these homes compete strongly with the second hand sector.
Suzanne Irons, sales director for Redrow Homes (Eastern), says: “Everything is included, all shiny and new, with appliances covered by manufacturers’ guarantees, the latest kitchen and bathroom choices and quality fixtures and fittings.
“This combination of traditional exterior and modern interior adds up to a home that can readily compete with the second hand sector for external character and wins hands down when it comes to stylish interiors, practical layouts, being energy efficiency and easy to maintain.”
The four-bedroom ‘Cambridge’ and ‘Oxford’ show homes, have been professionally furnished and decorated so potential purchaser can imagine making themselves at home.
A perfect family home, the Cambridge features a warm colour scheme of aubergine cream and gold, with a cream suite in the lounge complemented by rich oak furniture. Designed with two children in mind, a fairytale little girl’s room has been themed around the Cinderella story with deep purple and silver accessories including a crystal ball. The boy’s room is ideal for a trend-setting teenager who loves his designer labels, with a deep aubergine colour scheme and metallic and oak furniture.
Also designed with the family at the heart of the home, the Oxford has a teal and cream colour scheme with an elegant hint of black and glass and wenge wood furniture. A cute puppy themed child’s bedroom is ideal for pet lovers and there’s also a guest room which doubles as a study with a day bed and computer desk.
Already popular at developments in Cambridgeshire, Berkshire and East Sussex, The Grange is bringing Redrow’s New Heritage Collection to a wider audience in the south of England and will feature 77 homes. The development will incorporate some stunning mature trees and areas of open space, while being just a short walk from the picturesque Mote Park and conveniently close to Maidstone town centre.
As Kent’s county town, Maidstone has a wide variety of shops, schools, sports and leisure centres, bars and restaurants, while Maidstone East station offers journey times to London Victoria or Charing Cross of around an hour.
Initial prices for the New Heritage Collection at The Grange, in Maidstone, are from £249,950 for a three-bedroom home and from £329,950 for a four-bedroom design.
