Estate Manager adds value to new homes in Kent

Service is paramount at Berkeley’s Holborough Lakes development where residents can have complete peace of mind there is always someone on hand to help. Morris Dickson has been the Estate Manager at the development since its inception in 2006 and is on call throughout the week to address any issues.

“Every morning I tour the development, picking up any litter and checking all the properties are looking their best. If there is anything that needs our attention I can therefore act upon it straight away,” comments Morris who served in the army for 39 years and worked his last 15 as an estate manager in Germany.

“My job is varied and keeps me on my toes! As the development matures there is always more to do. I know all of the residents and they know they can call me anytime if they have anything they need help with. We have a few residents who spend time abroad so they often ask me to keep an eye on their property, giving them complete peace of mind while they are away. Plus quite a few residents work in London so if they have any deliveries during the day, I am on hand to take them in.”

One of the Estate Manager’s jobs is to maintain the up keep of the development which has sometimes proved challenging as Morris explains; “I oversee the landscape maintenance and four water features at the development to ensure they always look their best and even when we had such thick snow I was out shoveling the paths to allow residents to make it out of their driveways – it’s all in a day’s work!”

The secure and peaceful environment has already proved popular with purchasers at Holborough Lakes according to Morris: “We have had a number of buyers purchase properties at the development due to the tranquil environment, attractive landscaping and excellent on-site facilities. It seems there is always someone in the gymnasium and plenty of people taking the opportunity to partake in activities.”
