A royal dinner and dancing at Quaglino’s

Quaglino’s restaurant invites guests to celebrate the royal nuptials by attending a Gala Dinner on Friday 29 April 2011.

The iconic venue, which originally launched in 1929, has always been synonymous with celebratory occasions: from black-tie dinners in the Thirties, through debutantes’ Coming Out in the Fifties, to movie premieres & fashion shows today. Illustrious guests have included Edward, Prince of Wales (Duke of Windsor), King Alfonso of Spain, and even Her Majesty the Queen.

In celebration of this latest Royal Wedding, Quaglino’s has created a luxurious menu that features classic dishes of past and present. Diners can indulge in dishes as Bisque De Homard (Silver Jubilee menu 1977) or Poussin Roti Façon “Grand Mère” (a la Carte Menu 1978). Desserts also include favourites across the decades, with one highlight in particular being Le Parfait Au Liqueur (celebration menu 1950).

No evening at Quaglino’s would be complete without music and dancing, and their live swing band promises to provide the perfect celebratory atmosphere for guests to dance the night away.  Tickets are priced at £60 per person, with a £10 donation for every ticket going to The Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton Charitable Gift Fund.

Furthermore, in the week leading up to the Royal Wedding, Quaglino’s will be serving traditional afternoon tea. Just a stone’s throw from St James’s Palace, it is an excellent spot  for visitors and locals alike to indulge in this quintessentially British tradition. The Quaglino’s afternoon tea includes freshly baked scones with clotted cream and preserves, freshly cut finger sandwiches and a delectable selection of cakes and pastries and is priced at £20. Quaglino’s will also serve a brunch on the big day itself, and screen the ceremony.

Quaglino’s is located at 16 Bury Street, St James's, London, SW1Y 6AJ.
