London City Airport improves access to Spain’s property hotspots

17th May 2011 Print

In response to high demand from London City Airport travellers, BA CityFlyer, a subsidiary of British Airways (BA) has announced greater access to the holiday favourite, Spain, with a new route to Malaga in the Costa del Sol and increased frequency of flights to Palma on the island of Mallorca.

The move by BA to boost their Spanish routes from London City Airport is part of a wider improvement for holiday travellers with a 39 increase in 'leisure flights' from the capital's airport for the summer season.

The thrice weekly flights to Malaga will commence from 8th June 2011 highlighting the continued popularity of this region in Spain and its year round appeal. The flights to Palma and Ibiza will increase from four to ten per week between July and September, the height of the vacation season.

Ignacio Osle, Sales & Marketing Director of Taylor Wimpey de España enthuses: "This is another positive step for Spain welcoming increased passenger numbers from London and the south-east of England. Demand is high for the Costa del Sol and Mallorca with many air travellers taking their holidays in these sunshine destinations but also we have great number of home owners in these regions so more flights allows greater flexibility in accessing second homes throughout the year.

"Responding to ongoing client demand, Taylor Wimpey de España is launching new developments in both the Costa del Sol and Mallorca this year with Cala Anguila on the eastern coast of Mallorca already released. The 3rd phase of Los Altos del Golf in Andratx is due to be launched at the end of March along with a new development in Pollensa, both in Mallorca. We have seen a good increase in property sales over the last year, especially in Mallorca, in fact we have just released a number of Show Homes to the market where all other stock has sold!"
