Teddington favourite Rétro Bistrot are delighted to have been named Best London Restaurant in The Good Food Guide’s Restaurant of the Year Awards.

Independent and family run, owner Vincent Gerbeau said today, “The whole team at Retro are delighted to have been voted Best Restaurant in London. We're a small team and we're thrilled to have been recognised, especially as it's our customers who have voted for us. A huge thank you to the team for their efforts, and to our diners for their support!” For more information, visit: retrobistrot.co.uk

The Good Food Guide regional restaurant awards are an annual event, and this year over 27,500 diners entered votes. Rétro Bistrot will now join the 10 regional winners at an event on 23rd June, when an overall national ‘restaurant of the year’ will be chosen.

Head Chef David Philpott creates fresh menus to compliment the changing seasons, and dishes are predominantly French and served at affordable prices. Dishes already popular on the new Spring menu include ‘Fillet de Rouget Grillé,’ (Grilled fillet of red mullet, brown shrimp and potato salad) and Aubergines et Asperges Grillées, (Grilled aubergine and asparagus, poached duck egg, hollandaise sauce.)

Rétro’s interior is decorated with exposed brickwork and rich turquoise drapes that create a warm, modern and individual look. The restaurant takes 110 covers, spread over two areas: the main restaurant, seating 60, and a smaller dining room, seating 50, which are easily accessible from one another.

Lunch is served Tuesday – Sunday, midday – 3.30pm; and dinner Tuesday – Saturday, 6.30 – 11pm. Bookings can be made through the website.
