Tortilla Hammersmith to give away 1000 burritos
Pioneering fast-casual Mexican restaurant group Tortilla launches its sixth site, Tortilla Hammersmith, on Thursday 2nd June.
To celebrate, the store will be handing out 1000 free burritos, giving locals a chance to try out the Tortilla delicious offering for absolutely nothing. Located on Hammersmith’s main street, King Street, the 32 cover restaurant showcases Tortilla’s new design whilst the much loved chicken, steak, pork and vegetarian burritos & tacos , for which the group is so well known, remain the menu highlight.
Founded and run by Managing Director Brandon Stephens, Tortilla started with the launch of its first restaurant in Islington in October 2007 followed a year later by the Southwark site. The chain now operates at six locations and claims its Canary Wharf store as the busiest burrito joint in the UK. Since the opening, Tortilla has quickly established itself as one of London’s most exciting restaurant groups; in the 2011 results of the Peach Business Leaders Survey Tortilla was named “one to watch” along with four other catering businesses.
The Hammersmith launch will see the design evolve although the interior will retain the clean, modern backdrop which is evident throughout the group. Hammersmith branch features exposed brickwork and warm wood walls while new furniture will add a fresh touch and distinguish the site from its siblings. The trademark Tortilla Corona Chandelier will form a key focus of the interior design; the Hammersmith one-of-a- kind chandelier has been made up of 440 Corona bottles.
Inspired by the abundance of Mexican food available in his native California, Stephens aims to give Londoners the affordable, top-quality Mexican food that millions of Californians enjoy every day. He has scoured the country for the best suppliers and the Tortilla philosophy dictates that all ingredients are freshly prepared daily to guarantee quality and a nutritious and substantial meal which can be enjoyed at any time of day or night.
