Caravaggio Restaurant awarded AA Rosette
City restaurant Caravaggio, at 2 Leadenhall Street, EC3, is this month celebrating the award of one AA rosette.
The long-established Rosette scheme recognises successful cooking across the UK, with only 10 percent of restaurants nationwide achieving a standard worthy of one Rosette and above. This is indeed a high achievement, celebrated by restaurants when it comes along, as it is unsolicited, it is based on one or more visits by an inspector and is not influenced by reviews received in other guides.
Caravaggio's AA Rosette is given in recognition of 'culinary excellence, achieving standards that stand out in its local area'. The Rosette shows that Caravaggio serves 'food prepared with care, understanding and skill, using good quality ingredients'.
Sergio Pipolo group general manager of Etrusca Restaurants comments: 'We are thrilled to have received this AA Rosette. Caravaggio is one of the City's favourite Italian restaurants, which has remained contemporary through almost two decades and continues to serve excellent modern and regional Italian food to the demanding and knowledgeable clientele of the Square Mile'.
Styled in homage to a key genius of the Italian Renaissance, Caravaggio is dedicated to gastronomic excellence, demonstrating the same dedication to quality and innovation in food and drink as the great Italian masters brought to painting and sculpture. Executive Chef Faliero Lenta has created a menu that brings together the best and most exciting dishes from the mainland and the Italian islands.
At mezzanine level, a gallery runs around the main room, providing height and movement, whilst a long, marble topped bar by the entrance is a sought after area for lunchtime diners with little time to spare. Caravaggio is at 2 Leadenhall Street, London WC3A 4DP.
