Jazz up your July at Touchwood

8th July 2011 Print

Touchwood is proud to welcome some of the region’s most talented musicians to the centre, as it plays host to Birmingham’s annual Jazz and Blues Festival for the fourth year running.

From 1st – 10th July, the festival sees the region transformed into a musical haven, with great toe-tapping tunes and talented musicians playing plenty of jazz and blues classics for residents to enjoy. And Touchwood will be showcasing the talents of some of the best acts in the festival.

Guests who come along on 8th, 9th or 10th July, will be treated to free live performances from Touchwood favourite, Tipitina, American songstress Sandi Russell and Dave Moorwood’s fantastic Rascals of Rhythm.

Lucy Burnett, marketing manager at Touchwood, comments: “The festival is a great opportunity for people in the local area to enjoy some fantastic musical talent for free, so we are delighted to be taking part again.

“We have some of the best acts in the world of blues and jazz taking to the stage, so we encourage everyone to pop along and enjoy the show-stopping performances for themselves. Jazz music is a great sound track to the season and will hopefully get everyone in the summer spirit!”

The acts will be playing as follows:
Friday 8 July - Tipitina @ 12:30
Saturday 9 July – Sandi Russell @ 14:30
Sunday 10 July – Dave Moorwood’s Rascals of Rhythms @ 13:00
