Redrow's commitment to quality has been rewarded with a pair of prestigious industry awards.

The housebuilder, which has its head office at St David's Park, Ewloe, has won two North Wales Local Authority Building Control (LABC) awards.

Nominated by Wrexham Council’s Building Control Department, Redrow scooped both the county and regional prize for Best Volume Housebuilder for its Pentre Bach venture in the town.

Paul Cromby, construction manager for Redrow Homes (NW), commented: “Our company mantra is ‘Our Pride ~ Your Joy’, with our staff, suppliers and sub-contractors all committed to building quality homes and delivering high standards of customer service, so that clients can enjoy their new homes to the full. We’re delighted that Wrexham Council recognised our commitment to quality in nominating us for the award and that the judging panel saw fit to not only crown us Best Volume Housebuilder in Wrexham, but the whole of North Wales.”

The LABC Building Excellence awards provide recognition for people engaged in construction projects who have achieved outstanding quality and building regulation compliance.

The scheme highlights the importance of building control in achieving high standards of workmanship, safety, welfare and convenience.

Eligible projects are nominated by the relevant local council's building control surveyors.

In nominating Pentre Bach, the surveyors from Wrexham Council’s Building Control Department noted how the homes were sympathetically designed in keeping with the surrounding area.

Principal building control surveyor Dave Sharp said: “Extremely conscientious site management throughout the development achieved impressive scoring for the effectiveness of the health and safety of staff and visitors, tidiness of site and storage of materials.”

The nomination praised site manager Gareth Wynne’s organisational skills, relationship with sub-contractors and the consistent use of site record inspection books throughout the project.

Gareth has been a site manager for Redrow for 15 years and has been based at Pentre Bach for 18 months.

“The award recognises the dedication the whole team invests into building quality properties that people are happy to call their home,” Gareth said.

Wrexham Council’s Dave Sharp added: “Redrow excelled in setting such high standards for others to follow. We are proud to have been associated with this development, wish the company every success and look forward to working together in the future.”

Located in Ruthin Road, just a mile and a half from Wrexham town centre Pentre Bach features a mixture of apartments and family homes with two, three and four bedrooms.

Three show homes are open daily at Pentre Bach from 10am to 5.30pm.
