Tracey and Mervyn Christison thought they would never buy a brand new home until they visited Redrow’s Danum St Giles venture in Doncaster and felt at home immediately.

The good choice of house styles, quality of finish and the sense of community at Danum St Giles meant that they knew straight away it was where they wanted to live.

Tracey said: “When we bought our old home we had to gut it and do lots of work to it. It was nice just to be able to move in and everything was already there – a new kitchen with integrated appliances and lots of storage space and a modern bathroom and en-suite.”

Already living in the area, Tracey and Mervyn had reached the point where they were mortgage free and wanted to better themselves.

Tracey explained: “We’d never been to Danum St Giles so went to look around and as soon as we drove into the development it felt like home straight away because there’s a real community feel.”

Now featuring designs from Redrow’s popular New Heritage Collection, Danum St Giles offers a choice of two, three and four-bedroom homes that offer the character of ‘period’ properties but with the style and convenience of being brand new.

“We had been in our old home for 18 years and wanted somewhere that would be easy to manage when the children have left home and we retire. When we saw the floor plans for the three-bedroom homes we liked them straight away so put a deposit down on a Tenby design,” Tracey added.

“Because it was only down the road from where we lived we could see how it was progressing. When we heard there was a Tenby already built in Selby that we could view we went to look around and it was lovely.”

The Tenby features a spacious lounge that spans from the front to the rear of the property, plus a combined kitchen and dining room. Upstairs the en-suite to master bedroom complements the family bathroom.

“We always said we would never buy new but we’ve had no regrets whatsoever. We bought off plan and everything went smoothly. Redrow were brilliant – there was always someone around to help,” Tracey commented.

Prices at Danum St Giles start from just £122,999 for a two-bedroom property. And with the Government-backed HomeBuy Direct scheme still available eligible customers could save almost a third off the initial purchase price with a 30% equity loan that’s interest free for the first five years.
