Olympic hockey hopeful Ashley Jackson paid a visit to Taylor Wimpey’s Leybourne Chase development to launch a brand new Trim Trail surrounding the new homes in West Malling.

Local boy, international athlete and star of Great Britain’s Olympic hockey team Ashley Jackson took time out from training for London 2012 to launch the new Trim Trail at Taylor Wimpey’s stunning Leybourne Chase development of new homes for sale in West Malling, Kent.

Covering a distance of two miles, the Trim Trail takes in the wonderful woodland scenery round the perimeter of the development of new build homes in West Malling, while testing the strength and stamina of residents with eight separate exercise stations.

And during the launch, the England number seven was able to offer a few words of advice to health-conscious residents of the West Malling property development keen on tackling the course at Leybourne Chase.

“As a professional sportsman, I know the value of keeping fit, but I also realise that most people have full-time jobs or busy home lives which can make it difficult to find time to exercise,” says Ashley, who comes from Tunbridge Wells and attended Sutton Valence School, just a few miles away from the development of property for sale in West Malling.

“That’s why this Trim Trail is such a great idea – whenever homeowners at Leybourne Chase have some spare time they can simply step out of their front doors and access this fantastic training equipment thanks to Taylor Wimpey.”

With a pole climb, parallel bars, a ladder walk and a vault forming just part of the new fitness route, homeowners at Leybourne Chase will find more than enough to get their hearts beating quicker.

Fiona Creed, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “It was really great to have Ashley launch the new Trim Trail at Leybourne Chase and hopefully, seeing how this local boy has grown into an international hockey star will give residents added motivation to make the most of the equipment.”

Leybourne Chase forms part of the Hospital Sites Programme run by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) to bring 96 former hospital sites back into productive use. As well as working with Taylor Wimpey to develop the site, the HCA is providing funding to ensure new and affordable homes are available for the local community.

Nearly two-thirds of the development site – some 140 acres – will be preserved as green open space for recreation and leisure, including parks, recreation grounds, fields, children’s playgrounds, sports pitches, a trim trail footpath, community allotments, a lake and an arboretum.

Enjoying a delightful, semi-rural location on the outskirts of Leybourne village, Leybourne Chase is a highly desirable new community comprising a superb selection of apartments and houses to suit a wide range of buyers.

One and two-bedroom apartments are priced from just £169,995 at the development and three-bedroom houses from only £249,995, while four-bedroom houses are available from £399,995.

Further information about the new homes at Leybourne Chase is available by visiting the Sales Information Centre and showhomes, located off London Road, West Malling, and open daily from 10.30am to 5.30pm. Alternatively, visit taylorwimpey.co.uk.
