Newlyweds Esther and Saul Watson were given a leg up onto the property ladder thanks to the Gifted Deposit scheme at Taylor Wimpey’s Great Easthall development of new homes for sale in Sittingbourne, Kent.

Like many recently married couples, Esther and Saul Watson found themselves living with the in-laws while they struggled to save up the deposit they needed to buy their own property in Kent.

Luckily, the newlyweds got a helping hand from Taylor Wimpey thanks to the leading housebuilder’s Gifted Deposit scheme, providing the couple with a 5% deposit which they used to secure a property for sale in Sittingbourne much earlier than they expected at Great East Hall.

“My husband Saul and I had been renting a two-bedroom home until we decided to buy our own place,” says Esther (36), recalling their search for new houses for sale in Sittingbourne. “At this point we opted to move in with my in-laws while we saved up enough money for a deposit.”

The couple thought fate was at play when, shortly into their married life, they walked through the door of the stunning three-bedroom showhome at Taylor Wimpey’s superb development of new build homes in Sittingbourne, Kent.

“I loved the showhome from the second I walked in – I would’ve bought it there and then if I could,” says Esther. “It was decorated in lime green, which was very similar to the colour theme at our wedding!”

Having discovered their dream home, the happy couple benefited from some vital assistance from Taylor Wimpey’s Gifted Deposit scheme to secure it, and having done so, Esther and Saul were delighted to discover that becoming home-owners could be such a straight-forward affair.

“We first saw the house in August 2010 and by the following month we had completed the deal,” says Esther, an operations manager for an insurance firm. “We just knew from the moment we saw the house that it was the one for us and so it was great that everything was dealt with so quickly.

“It was really easy, the Sales Executives were fantastic and took excellent care of us and even after moving in the Taylor Wimpey team has continued to take an interest and to make sure everything is fine with the house, even though we have been living here a while now it’s reassuring to know they’re still on hand should we need them!”

The Watsons were able to move into their own home so soon after getting married thanks to Taylor Wimpey’s sensational Gifted Deposit incentive, which is available at Great Easthall, meaning lucky purchasers are handed 5% of the price of the selected properties to add to their deposit – with nothing whatsoever to pay back!

Gifted Deposit is available now with selected properties at Great Easthall, where three-bedroom homes are available from only £147,500.

Great Easthall enjoys an excellent position in the lively market town of Sittingbourne, where a good selection of major high street stores can be found, alongside pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes.

Nearby Faversham, Maidstone and the Medway towns of Chatham, Gillingham and Rochester widen the choice of shopping, sporting and leisure attractions.

The area is home to a good choice of schools, while commuters will appreciate access to the A2, the M2 and M20 and regular rail services from Sittingbourne station – a mile-and-a-half away – both to London Victoria and Gatwick airport.
