Downsize to an easier lifestyle in Abergele

9th January 2012 Print
Tannery Court, Abergele

Residents of Tannery Court live independently in a home they own, but can choose to enjoy the company of like-minded individuals, the support of friendly staff and a tasty three-course lunch served in their own restaurant if they wish.

All this and more is provided in the popular North Wales resort of Abergele and less than a mile from the seafront.

Would-be home owners who want to be part of this community can enjoy coffee and Danish pastries, this Wednesday (Jan 18) from 10am to 12 noon and find out more.

Only three properties remain for sale, all of them spacious two-bedroom apartments, perfect for those seeking a stylish, comfortable and safe new home for their later years.

Situated off Water Street, in the town centre, Tannery Court offers all the advantages of independent living - but backed by the reassurance of friendly on-site support staff, an emergency call system and serviced communal areas, including a residents’ lounge, restaurant, landscaped gardens and a guest suite for when family come to stay.

Liz adds: “Our properties are suitable for anyone from the active retired to those needing a little bit of extra care. Many people retire to the Abergele area so potential customers may already have downsized to a smaller house or bungalow. Our apartments offer them the chance to reduce their maintenance worries further and benefit from communal facilities, but still retain their independence.

“They can choose to enjoy the companionship of other home owners and access to a variety of social activities, but at the same time they still own their home and can enjoy the privacy of closing their own front door.”

The Aspen apartments are spacious, stylish and well equipped. Kitchens include an electric eye-level oven, hob, fridge-freezer and washer dryer, while bathrooms include a walk-in shower and a bath.

The development is at the heart of Abergele, close to shops and other amenities, less than a mile from the sea front and three-quarters of a mile from Abergele and Pensarn train station.

For legal completions by March 31, 2012, prices are from just £117,250 with Aspen’s 70/30 shared equity scheme. The home owner pays for only 70% of the property and Aspen retains a 30% share.

“This increases the affordability of our homes and may allow home owners to release some equity to fund their lifestyle,” said Liz.

Aspen can also provide practical help to sell a customer’s existing property.

Come to the open day on Wednesday, January 18th to find out how Aspen can help and more about the lifestyle benefits of owning a home at Tannery Court. Alternatively, visit aspenretirement.co.uk.
